Tailoring Rock – Diesel Gold Label Prefall 2012

Diesel Gold Label keep expressing the black label which is the luxury version of Diesel style. This year there is the 1st “Preview Boutique” in New York for Diesel Gold Label. The Prefall catwalk separates womenswear and menswear, and they give us a tailoring rock collection. All of the items of this collection including tweed trousers, biker jacket, dresses and tops are emphasized polished tailoring, with the rock elements adding on top to make the clothing become more easy to wear. The using of colors are mainly black , white and grey, with a contrasting color bronze red to present the luxury side of Diesel Gold Label.

I think this is a new try of matching tailoring clothing with rock elements, the nice use of bronze red making the whole collection become young and brightly.

Moving Messager—- Nouio

Nouio based in Taipei, Taiwan. The founder – Tri Nouio studied at Shih Chien University and graduated in 2011. His 1st brand named as Noumenon and started in 2011. Noumenon designs clothing combine art, technology and fashion in the use of 3D imaginary on fabric. It creates unique styles by using futuristic aesthetics and classic silhouettes.

Nouio’s graduation collection named as Tridulun, showing in SS12 season. The inspiration comes from 3D technology and nature pattern. Nouio thinks that image is easier to convey than message, so he adapted 3D technology to develop motility influenced by nature for collection. When people wearing 3D glasses, it is intended to be a distraction from the human form.

I really like the concept of using 3D technology as print pattern, It gives a movement for the clothing and the pattern will be more attractive. I also like the lookbook of Tridulun, it fits the topic of nature movement with the unique road background of Taiwan. It is very Asia-like collection but with a twist with European silhouette and color palette.

COME & HAVE FUN!

Start from natural – C.neeon

C.neeon is a group of designers Clara Leskovar and Doreen Schulz  based in Berlin . They are all graduated in Kunsthochsuhule Berlin Weissensee 2004. Clara Leskovar studied in Textile Design and  Doreen Schulz studied in Fashion Design. They presents their 1st collection in Berlin Fashion Week “Becks Fashion Experience” named as “Daydreamnation” in March 2004. They won the Hyeres International Festival the prestigious Grand Prix 2005. London Fashion Week also invited them in “New Generation” fashion week. In the trip, they started to take the name ” C.neeon” as their brand name, inspired by the childhood nicknames.

C. neeon interested in graphic / print designs, they likes to apply different patterns on their clothing. They set up their studio with different graphic designers, photographers and painters in an old kinder garden, while they do projects together , C.neeon has different ideas for printing. They applied all the ideas in silhouettes with intriguing volume and architectural, asymmetric shape. They start their 1st exhibition with their “roommate” in summer 2006 at Kunsgewerbe museum in Berlin. C.neeon already has different show room in Tokyo, New York, Paris and Berlin right now.

SS12 collection

C.neeon applied different Africa print patterns and color block patterns in their SS12 collection. The whole collection gives me a sense of environment protection. Since they applied a lot of plants-made printing on their clothing, that is a against of the pollution of printing industry right now. The whole collection also presents the outfits of human in wild. I like the color mixture of whole collection , but it will be better if there are more silhouette or details on the clothing.

AW 11 collection

AW 11 collection also has a human in wild mood, but this is a romantic version. I like the floral decoration on modal’s head, it matches the prints very much. The prints for AW11 collection is amazing, the nice bur digital print let me think about our environment, the rainy days. The look book for AW11 collection also like a black & white movie in the old days, but they have a highlight for the prints of clothing. It makes the whole collection become a moody collection .

Fabric Crash and Mix – Saara Lepokorpi

Saara Lepokorpi is a Helsinki based fashion designer. She graduated from the MA degree of Aalto University and started her own brand -Lepokorpi in 2011.

Her designs are the marriage between the powerful,  statement and colorful tradition. She likes the stemming beauty from contradiction and conflict. She takes inspiration from technology and organic reality. She found all of her print patterns between freedom and restriction. Therefore, the high technology fabrics are mixed with the freedom/ tradition prints, which created modern, unapologetic and interpretation of femininity as her own styles. She also inputed her strong crafting skills in her designs, that makes her collections become unique handmade, special pieces and locally produced.

The AW12 collection

The collection is the mixture of different fabrics and colors and forms. It is a crash of different design elements to find the special harmony in her collection. She also applied her own hand crafting skills in the collection , which turns these old techniques become more modern. The layering and slim silhouette is also a highlight of this collection, which matches well with the complicated colors and fabrication .

The SS12 collection

SS12 collection presents something about wildlife. You can see the mixture of outerwear with delicate inner. It also presents what Saara Lepokorpi strongly believe about “The mixture of natural and modern”. She also used the hand pleating skills in her collection to continue the hand crafting style. The nice choosing of green color is a high light of this collection, it strongly present as the color in between natural and modern style.

Fold & Act – Linus & The Feel Good Factory

Linus & The Feel Good Factory is a Hong Kong based product design group. It is founded by Hong Kong Artist Linus Hui. What I think about Linus & The Feel Good Factory is a mixture of art, styling and performance art. Linus Hui using the technique of paper-folding (what he called Origami) to product different costume. He used his hand-made costume to make his “365 days daily” , using different theme and performance it through his own “costume”. Linus Hui like to use paper since he think it is a stiff and smooth material.

His performance divided to be different theme , including “Masque of the Animals”, “Cartoon Animals”, “Body? Chess Set, Go!” and “365 daily”. I really appreciate what Linus did. He used his own tool to present what he think about our society and our world. It is a creative way to say without words!

The injured rabbit – Kim Traeger

Kim Traegar is a BA graduated of Central Saint Martins, his graduate collection is a story about a rabbit that was run over by a car when it was crossing a road at night. When it stands up with its intestines in the paws, it realises that is the Easter Bunny. The whole collection gives a feeling of macabre and cute at the same time. The use of white of this collection presents the horrible hospital. The good use of mix media/ texture gives a balance of this collection.I also like the leather accessories of this collection, giving so much details and layering the whole collection.

Kim Traegar will be a fashion designer of Josephus Thimister . He will also start his own brand to make clever and saleable clothes in the future.

Building materials- Kerhao

Kerhao is a MA graduate in Central Saint Martin, trained as a Fashion Designer in Vanessa Bruno and Chloe. Kerhao is also a skillful fashion illustrator, that we can see a good graphic sense and good use of color in her fashion designs. The signature of Kerhao’s designs are practical and simple, she likes to play around vintage clothing and turn them to be a new collection.
The AW 11 collection of Kerhao named as “This is sooo you”, Kerhao plays around old sportswear jackets, windbreaks and skisuit to create the sportswear style in her collection. She also wants to re-invent these clothing by using different materials and playing with shapes and volumes. I think it turns the whole collection to be funky and interesting. The collection is in between elegant/ clean with funky style, this is sooo me. It is so good that Kerhao plays around the texture of whole outfit and the 3-D shaping of the collection is super funny. I am looking forward of her SS12 collection !
